I’m Jay Manley, and I own/manage Dakota Skyhook, LLC, which is a North Dakota-based land investment company which offers land to be purchased, typically on terms since 2024.
I started my career as a solution engineer, then moved to a project manager, during which I worked for Microsoft for nearly 14 years. I traveled extensively, both in the US but also internationally.
Then I got my real estate licenses for both ND and MN and held them for many years before moving back into software as a COO for one software company, then VP for another.
I’m also involved in the Civil Air Patrol in North Dakota as a Director of sUAS (drone) activities across the state and I’m very active in motorsports, drag racing for decades and recently getting into drifting. I also love snowmobiling in the mountains, camping off-grid, and shooting sports.
And now I’ve purchased nearly 30 properties and have sold ½ of them. With that kind of experience, you’re guaranteed that I can help you find land at an affordable price for you to move to.
I have the experience to help you with every stage of your purchasing decision!
Land Sales Made Simple
We want to make this as easy as possible for you to own land!
FIRST: We ask that you pay the down payment and document fee per the link provided - either directly or located in the Land Gallery. You’ll be asked for some basic information - Name, Address, Email, Phone. And then you can pay by ACH from your bank or by Credit Card.
SECOND: We’ll then complete a Promissory Note with the payment terms on it and have you sign it electronically.
THIRD: Next, we’ll set you up on an automated system to make the monthly payments (it's called “GeekPay”) so that it’s deducted automatically each month - this can be from a credit card or a bank account.
FINALLY: When you’ve paid off the Note, the Deed will be transferred to you and you’ll have full use of your new property to enjoy for your lifetime! You’ll aways be issued a Warranty Deed from Dakota Skyhook, which is the highest level of Deed you can get in Oregon.
NOTE: You cannot use the land in any way until it is paid in full. This is for several reasons - there is a risk towards me as the land owner that if anyone on the property gets injured or hurt, I can be liable, as well as any damage that you might do to the land could cost me more than the land is worth. I know many want to pay terms and live there while doing so, but I simply cannot allow that.
